Accountability

Accountability and integrity are two of the most important values a non-profit organization can have. Therefore, the Finance Committee of United Way of Hall County takes seriously its responsibility of financial oversight and reports monthly to the Board of Directors. In addition, they safeguard the assets of the organization. The Finance Committee is comprised of professional volunteers along with the President of United Way of Hall County.

Below are a list of policies that guide our accountability, both financially and ethically.

Code of Ethics

This Code of Ethics is the policy of United Way of Hall County and expresses fundamental values. Accordingly, this code guides the conduct of all employees, volunteers, and representatives of United Way of Hall County, and is intended to foster an environment that promotes ethical conduct.

Constitution & Bylaws

This document provides the basis for the way business is handled at the United Way of Hall County.

Conflict of Interest

The purpose of the conflict of interest policy is to protect United Way of Hall County's interest when it is contemplating entering into a transaction or arrangement that might benefit the private interest of an officer, director, or employee of the corporation or when making decisions regarding partner agencies or other funded programs.

Patriot Act Policy

This policy assures stakeholders that United Way of Hall County will comply with the USA Patriot Act and other counter-terrorism laws.

2010 Audit

An independent audit is conducted annually, after the fiscal year end of April 30, and the auditor’s recommendations are reviewed with the audit committee, the finance committee and discussed with the Board of Directors.

Tax Returns

The tax returns are filed after the completion of the independent audit.
